About us
The European Consumer Centre Slovenia has been a part of a network of European Consumer Centres since 2006 and has been working under the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport as of 2014. ECC Slovenia has four employees. Our task is to provide advice and assistance if you are making purchases in other EU member states, in Norway, or Iceland, or if you are travelling there and you encounter problems when enforcing your rights with providers of goods and services.
Our offices are at the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport at Kotnikova 5 in Ljubljana where you may visit us on every business day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. During these hours, you may also call +386 (0)1 400 3729 or send us an e-mail at any time at epc.mgts@gov.si. We will do our best to answer you as soon as possible.
Please contact the ECC-Net whenever:
- You need advice to help you avoid problems while purchasing and travelling across Europe and save unnecessary costs
- You want to know your rights if having problems with your cross-border purchase
- You need help getting into contact with a trader based abroad
- You want to know how your complaint can be solved and what your rights and responsibilities in the dispute resolution are
- You want to fill in the online complaint form whenever you cannot reach an agreement with a trader based outside your home country
- You need professional assistance in asserting your consumer rights and help with other cross-border purchase issues
- You want to know the European and national consumer protection legislation
ECC Slovenia cannot:
- Help you with commercial disputes (B2B)
- Help you with disputes involving state authorities
- Handle your consumer complaint if the trader is based in your home country (no cross-border element)
- Intervene if the trader is based outside the EU, Norway and Iceland
ECC Slovenia has no power to take legal or enforcement action against a trader or represent the consumer before court.
