In 2014, European citizens took more than 1.4 billion leisure trips, of which three quarters were carried out within the European Union. An increasing number of people plan their holiday trips online, where they also book services related to their holiday trip. More than a third of European consumers who have internet access book their flights or hotels online, which means that they prefer to plan their holiday themselves rather than purchasing package deals offered by travel agencies. This is also confirmed by the current cases treated by the European Consumer Centre Slovenia
