ECC Slovenia in 2024: Slovenian consumers most often encountered problems when purchasing products from Germany and Italy

In 2024, the European Consumer Centre Slovenia received a total of 1,437 consumer requests, which is slightly more than in the previous year.

Out of these requests, 1,105 related to advice regarding consumer rights or help in asserting such rights. Slovenian consumers filed 140 complaints against foreign providers of goods or services, mainly from Germany and Italy, then from Poland, Netherlands and France. The most frequent problems were related to undelivered goods (19%), product non-conformity (15%) and the right to withdraw from contract (14.5%). The majority of complaints were related to air service.

In 192 cases, foreign consumers complained against Slovenian providers of goods or services, with Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech and Polish consumers having been most often deprived of their rights. The most frequent violations were related to the right to withdraw from contract (32.2%), product non-conformity (17.8%) and problems with receiving a product (16%). These problems were mostly associated with purchases of clothing and footwear.
