Pravice letalskih potnikov v praksi

praksaEvropska unija je v svojih predpisih določila vrsto pravic, ki jih imajo potniki, kadar potujejo z letalom. Uredba 261/2004 ureja pravice potnikov, ki (1) odhajajo z letališča na ozemlju EU ali pa (2) odhajajo z letališča izven EU na letališče v EU s prevoznikom, ki ima sedež na ozemlju EU. Pravice potnikov se nanašajo na primere odpovedi leta, daljše zamude ali zavrnitve vkrcanja. Potniki imajo v primerih odpovedi leta, daljše zamude ali spremembe poti pravico do primerne oskrbe, v primeru odpovedi leta ali zamude, daljše od 3 ur pa tudi pravico do denarne odškodnine, katere višina je odvisna od dolžine leta. V primeru zamude ali odpovedi leta zaradi izrednih okoliščin, kamor sodi tudi stavka letalskega osebja, letalski prevozniki odškodnine niso dolžni plačati.

In case the holiday turns out differently than planned you should know what to do to exercise your rights. Even better: You can also say it!

Especially for the summer holidays the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) launches a unique mobile application: the ECC-Net: Travel App. It is an indispensable travel companion inside the European Union as well as in Iceland and Norway: the application helps consumers to cope with difficult situations on their holiday abroad and to express their consumer rights in the language of the destination country. The ECC-Net: Travel App provides legal knowledge and language support in 23 EU languages plus Norwegian and Icelandic.

The different topics are: retail purchases, car rental, hotel accommodation, medical treatment, air and rail transport as well as bus and marine travel.

A section with useful information offers important phone numbers and contact details for every day emergencies.The app is free of charge and works offline to avoid the roaming trap. It is available for mobile devices with iOS, Android and Microsoft Windows operating systems and can be downloaded here:
