Consumer Rights
In 2012 the European Consumer Centres Network helped consumers to enforce their rights mainly in online shopping and in enforcing passenger rights. Due to the method of sales, online shopping is the most frequent subject of complaint – it covers 60% of all the complaints for which the consumers sought assistance with the ECC-Net. In relation to the economic sector, one third of complaints were made in the field of transportation and 7% in the field of tourism, the latter relating to package travel and timeshare. The number of complaints rose most significantly in the field of health with complaints relating to the purchase of non-pharmaceutical medical products and therapeutic devices and equipment.
