A consumer bought a welding machine from the online shop www.wellweld.de and payed 301,95 EUR for it. The machine malfunctioned within the garantee period.
The consumer immediatly contacted the seller and asked him how to exercise his garantee request. The seller sent him a form. The consumer filled in the form and sent it to the seller toghether with the invoice and welding machine. There was no answer in three months, so the consumer asked how the repair was going.
The seller insisted that he didn't get the package at all. The consumer got the package number from the shipping agent and sent it to the seller. From then on the seller no longer answered. In mid February 2010 the consumer decided to ask our Center for help.
We contacted the ECC in Germany and asked them to intervene with the seller and demand the repaired machine or the return of the purchase fee. At first the seller didn't answer our German collegues request, but after several interventions they returned the whole purchase fee to the consumer.
