When a product stops working and you have warranty

shutterstock_2118972In Slovenia commercial warranty of the producer is obligatory for certain technical products. In other EU Member States the commercial warranty is usually voluntary.

The seller has to provide you with at least what was promised in a guarantee documentation or a public ad. Therefore, in case you do not receive guarantee documentation, keep the ad where guarantee is promised.

If the product stops working, you must first check, whether you can enforce your guarantee rights also in your country. Authorized repair shops are not obliged to repair products, bought in another EU Member States, unless this is explicitly stated in the guarantee documentation or a public ad (e.g. "EU-wide guarantee").

If enforcement of the guarantee is not possible in your country, you have to enforce it in one of the countries, listed in the guarantee documentation.
