A Slovene consumer has been skiing at the Moelltaller Ski Resort in the neighbouring Austria on a number of occasions. During one of the visits he noticed that some sort of black substance was dripping on skiers from the chairlift, especially when the temperatures were a bit higher. He pointed the attention of the ski resort management to this and they promised to do something about it.
However, during his last visit, when the temperature was again slightly higher he noticed black stains on his ski jacket. He sent a written complaint to the ski resort management, received no reply and thus decided to contact the ECC Slovenia requesting our assistance.
We explained to the consumer in question that the ski resort manager is responsible for any damages caused to the skiers. We shared the case with the European Consumer Centre Austria, asked them to intervene with the ski resort and claim reimbursement of the damages incurred by the consumer. Just over a month later, the consumer was informed he would be reimbursed with the costs of dry cleaning and was also given a one-day ski pass as a bonus.
