Labelling of hazardous chemicals
Hazard symbols / statements / signal words are used to communicate hazardous properties of products which contain dangerous chemicals and to contribute to wise choices, use and disposal of these products. The internationally agreed upon hazard symbols are classified into those which point to various effects of products on one's health and the environment and those which warn about hazards arising from their physical properties. Each symbol is accompanied with a textual explanation of the adverse eff ect of the chemical contained in the product.
